Hasbro Children's Hospital's Adolescent Weight Management Program

One of every three children and adolescents in the U.S. today is either overweight or obese. If you are an adolescent struggling with excess weight, you are not alone.

Many teenagers today find it hard to maintain a healthy weight. And many parents find it hard to help their teens develop healthy eating and exercise habits.

For teenagers suffering from the common problem of obesity, Hasbro Children’s Hospital can help.

Our adolescent weight management program includes physicians, psychologists, surgeons, nutritionists and physical therapists. The whole team works together to help adolescents and families develop healthier lifestyles and gain control over their weight.

Criteria

The CHANGES program is for teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 who are struggling with excess weight. We also include family members or caregivers in the initial consultation, so that all members of the household are working together to promote a healthier lifestyle.

At this time the CHANGES Program is only covered by United Healthcare Commercial and United Healthcare Rite Care. Adolescents covered by other insurers are eligible for comprehensive evaluation and may receive the treatment program as an out-of-pocket expense. Please call 401-793-8829 for more details.
