Dunkin' Donuts

Mark your calendars, May 22, 2013 is Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee Day.

This year on Iced Coffee Day, Dunkin’ Donuts franchises in the Rhode Island and Bristol County, Massachusetts markets will be donating $1.00 of every Iced Coffee sold on May 22, 2013 to the Dunkin’ Brands Community Foundation to support Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Money raised has provided young patients with a Dunkin’ Donuts play area, and a “My Hospital Scrapbook™”, an activity book that combines creative medical activities, thought provoking discussions, and educational medical tidbits to help improve a child's understanding of their hospital experience.

The money this year will be going to the development of a new 6th floor Family Room to provide a space for families to cook a meal, use a computer, or simply take a break and relax. The design of the family room was created with the input of patient families and will reflect the latest design elements Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants. Of course, parents will also be able to enjoy delicious Dunkin’ Donuts K-Cups.

Hasbro Children’s Hospital Receives Proceeds from
Third Annual Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee Day

On Monday, October 22, Hasbro Children’s Hospital welcomed local Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees as they presented the hospital with a check for $128,667 from the third annual Iced Coffee Day on May 23. The funds raised in Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees around Rhode Island and Bristol County, Massachusetts, will support the renovation of the sixth-floor family room to provide families with a more comfortable and inviting “home away from home” during their child’s stay at the hospital. The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past several years to support a wide range of essential programs at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

At Dunkin’ Brands, community is the heart of their business. That’s why The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation was established. Working in partnership with Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins franchisees across the country, the Foundation serves the basic needs of its communities through food for the hungry, safety and children’s health. It’s what they do every day.

In 2011, the Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees in Rhode Island and Bristol County, Massachusetts, donated the proceeds
of Iced Coffee Day to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, totaling $164,093. With those funds, the hospital was able to renovate the play area in the pediatric ambulatory clinic. The new play area is a fully interactive space that will help kids play through the stress and anxiety of a hospital visit. Throughout the partnership, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees have contributed more than $650,000 to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

Spirit with Community Generosity

Coffee and ice—a perfect mix on a warm day.

Dunkin’ Donuts and Hasbro Children’s Hospital are another perfect mix. The two joined forces for fun and fundraising at the second annual Iced Coffee Day on May 25. After weeks of rain, the sun came out and so did crowds of customers who enjoyed discounted drinks and the chance to help heal kids and families.

This incredible influx of support amounted to a check for $164,093 from Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees in Rhode Island and Bristol County, Massachusetts. The proceeds will support the renovation of the play area in the hospital’s pediatric ambulatory clinic, creating a fully interactive space that will help kids play through the stress and anxiety of a hospital visit.

“On behalf of local Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees, crews and guests, it is our pleasure to work with you and to explore all the great ways that Dunkin’ Donuts can have a presence at Hasbro Children’s Hospital,” says Todd Wallace, field marketing manager for Dunkin’ Donuts and a member of Hasbro Children’s Hospital’s advisory council.

This donation brings the total that Dunkin’ Donuts has contributed to Hasbro Children’s Hospital over the years to more than $650,000.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have our friends at Dunkin’ Donuts as members of the Hasbro Children’s Hospital family,” says Timothy J. Babineau, MD, President and CEO, Lifespan, Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital. “This is the second year of our longstanding partnership, and every dollar raised goes to the children and families that we serve. I’m already looking forward to the twenty-fifth anniversary of this extraordinary event!”
