Professional football players Stephen Gostkowski and Zoltan Mesko want to ensure that every child in our region experiences the joys of childhood regardless of health issues.
That is why each time Stephen makes a field goal and/or extra point, and Zoltan lands a punt within the 20-yard line during the 2013 regular football season they will make a gift to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
Kick 4 Kids supports the innovative work at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. We work every day to keep kids safe and healthy.
One program that has benefited from Kick 4 Kids is the Sports Concussion Prevention Program at our Center for Sports Medicine. The Center was created to address the immediate needs of young athletes by offering specialized care to help patients return to play as soon as is safely possible.
“The number of sports-related concussions is on the rise among children and teens, and we are grateful to the Kick 4 Kids Club for helping us keep kids safe while playing football or during their other favorite activities,” says Dr. Elizabeth Jacobs, Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician and Founder of the Rhode Island Concussion Management Consortium.
Over 5,000 high school athletes received ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) through the Sports Concussion Prevention Program. Because of donations to Kick 4 Kids, Rhode Island student-athletes received ImPACT testing at no-charge. For more information about the Sports Concussion Prevention Program, please call 401-519-1608.
Elizabeth Jacobs, MD, describes how the IMPACT test is used for high school students who play contact sports in Rhode Island.
Through
the Kick for Kids Club you can match Stephen and Zoltan’s generous gifts
by joining the Club at one of the following levels:
Members of the Club pledge to match Stephen and Zoltan’s gifts at two giving levels – either $10 or $25 Field Goal, Extra Point or Punt within the 20-yard line for a maximum individual gift of $250 or $500 during the season.
Three short years ago we launched Kick 4 Kids Club at Hasbro Children's Hospital with our favorite professional football kicker Stephen Gostkowski. Since then, we have added his talented teammate Zoltan Mesko to the roster and together with individuals in the community we have raised close to $75,000 for Hasbro Children's Hospital.
