Visiting Hours and Information

Family members and friends are welcome to visit with patients at Hasbro Children's Hospital. 

Regular visiting hours are from 2 to 8 p.m. daily, including weekends and holidays. Visitors must pick up a visitor's pass at the information desk. Four visitors, including parents, are allowed in the room at a time.

An adult must accompany any children under the age of 16, and should also be prepared to provide the children's immunization records and disease exposure information if requested. If bringing siblings under age 16, please coordinate a visit with your child's nurse or child care specialist. Siblings may not stay overnight.

Visiting hours and policies may vary, depending on the care your child needs. Please check with your child's nurse for details. Visitors should call the hospital's patient information line at 401-444-5421 to confirm visiting hours for patients who are critically ill.

When children are in our pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) there is usually a limit of two visitors at any given time. If you have any questions, please see your child's nurse. More about PICU guidelines for visitors

Mail, Flowers and Gifts

Cards and letters will arrive sooner if addressed as follows:

Flowers and other gifts are welcome, but rubber latex or plastic balloons may not be given to children because they present a choking hazard and may cause allergic reactions. Mylar balloons are allowed.

Please be sure that your child's full name and floor location are given to delivery people. If your child is in the PICU, flowers are not allowed.

Gift Shops

The hospital offers two gift shops, which are open daily.

Trinkets and Treasures is located in the upper lobby of Hasbro Children's Hospital. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The shop is stocked with toys, games, educational materials and gifts.

Lewen Gift Shop is located on the first floor of the Rhode Island Hospital Main Building. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. The shop offers magazines, candy, cards, toiletries, toys, flowers and other gifts. Tobacco products are not sold in the hospital.

Check with your child's nurse to see if there are any gift restrictions for your child's room.
