The Center for Pediatric Imaging and Sedation’s staff includes skilled, board-certified radiologic technologists and the state’s only board-certified radiologists who specialize in pediatric imaging. Our radiologists communicate directly with patients’ pediatricians to ensure efficient and accurate transmission of test results and other important patient information.
Linda Snelling, MD is medical director of pediatric sedation, and medical director of the pediatric intensive care unit and inpatient pediatric medicine at Hasbro Children's Hospital. Her academic roles are chief of pediatric critical care medicine, and professor of pediatrics and surgery (clinical) at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. Snelling graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine and completed an internship and a residency in pediatrics at the University of Utah. She then completed a residency in anesthesiology and a fellowship in pediatric critical care at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Michael
Wallach, MD, is an associate professor (clinical) of diagnostic
imaging and pediatrics at Brown Medical School. After earning his
medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine
in Cleveland, Ohio, Wallach completed a residency in diagnostic
radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, also located in Cleveland, and
a fellowship in pediatric radiology at Children’s Hospital Boston.
John Cassese, MD, is an assistant professor of diagnostic imaging and pediatrics at Brown Medical School. Cassese graduated from New York University School of Medicine. His residency in diagnostic radiology was completed at State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse and his fellowship in pediatric radiology was fulfilled at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Kathleen
McCarten, MD, is a graduate of the Medical College of
Pennsylvania. After earning her medical degree, McCarten completed her
residency in diagnostic radiology at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in Ann
Arbor, Michigan, and her fellowship in pediatric radiology at Children’s
Hospital Boston. McCarten is an associate professor (clinical) of
diagnostic imaging and pediatrics at Brown Medical School and currently
serves as co-director of the school’s medical student program in
diagnostic imaging.
Marcelle
Piccolello, MD, is an assistant professor (clinical) of
diagnostic imaging at Brown Medical School. Piccolello graduated from
the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed a
residency in diagnostic radiology at Hartford Hospital and a fellowship
in pediatric radiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical
Center.
Thaddeus W. Herliczek, MD, MS, is director of the division of pediatric radiology at Hasbro's Children's Hospital and an assistant professor of diagnostic imaging at Brown Medical School. After earning his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA, Herliczek completed an internship in pediatrics and then served as resident and chief resident in diagnostic radiology at the University of Massachusetts. He performed his fellowship and served as chief fellow in pediatric radiology at Children's Hospital Boston.
Alexander Kowal, MD, is an assistant professor of diagnostic imaging at Brown Medical School. After earning his medical degree from Boston University in Boston, MA, Kowal completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. He performed his fellowship in pediatric radiology at Children's Hospital Boston.
