Inpatient Care

The “Red Pod” on the 5th floor is staffed by specially trained nurses, doctors, and pharmacists. Social workers and parent liaisons are there to support family members. 

Patients enjoy large rooms with an active child life program, both for those who are limited to their room and for those who can explore the floors and the playroom. A teacher and schoolroom are available to ensure that each child is ready to re-enter school  after being discharged.

Several rooms on the “Red Pod” are environmentally isolated from the rest of the hospital by protective antechambers and independent air intake to protect the most immunocompromised patients.  All necessary pediatric subspecialties, including pediatric sedation, surgery, imaging services and supportive services are available to our patients.
