Children’s Hospital is deeply committed to advancing medical knowledge
and improving patient care for children through the latest research. Our
clinical research has garnered national and international recognition,
including an estimated ten new awards per year for the last five
years.
We currently have 53 principal investigators conducting more than 160 research initiatives, which are coordinated across Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Bradley Hospital and Women & Infants Hospital. Researchers are also affiliated with The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Our large, diverse research departments attract the brightest medical minds from around the world. Our researchers have made significant findings in cancer, liver disease, diabetes and asthma, and our research has appeared in more than 500 publications over the past five years.
Our nationally recognized research is funded by many leading organizations that support investigation and innovation in children’s health, including the National Institutes of Health, Brown University, and private sources. Pediatric cancer research is led by members of the Children’s Oncology Group. In FY2010, total research funding among Hasbro Children's Hospital, Bradley Hospital and Women & Infants Hospital was $23.5 million.
