The division of Pediatric Endocrinology at Hasbro Children's Hospital has a three-fold mission: patient care, medical education and research.
Patient care services include comprehensive evaluation and treatment of infants, children and adolescents with diseases or disorders of the endocrine system, including diabetes, obesity-associated metabolic disease, growth and pubertal disorders, thyroid disease, mineral metabolism, pituitary and adrenal problems.
Our team includes board-certified pediatric endocrinologists, pediatric endocrine fellows and specialized nurses. Our outpatient services include specialized clinics in diabetes, diabetes-education, obesity-related metabolic disease, and general endocrine disorders.
The Pediatric Diabetes Outpatient Education Center at Rhode Island Hospital / Hasbro Children's Hospital has achieved the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education and is nationally recognized by the American Diabetes Association Education Recognition Program. It is the only pediatric service in Rhode Island, southern Massachusetts and northeastern Connecticut meeting this certification.
The program provides state of the art care for children with diabetes through a multidisciplinary, highly experienced team of pediatric endocrinologists, diabetes nurse educators, registered dietitians, and medical social workers. Our diabetes educators are nationally certified by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators.
