Psychiatry Emergency Services (PES) at Hasbro Children's Hospital provides emergency psychiatric evaluation and crisis management for adolescents and children, with linkages to treatment programs for needed follow-up care.
All emergencies are seen by experienced clinicians and discussed with or seen by a child psychiatrist.
This service runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Staffing includes psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, master's level psychology clinicians, psychiatry residents and fellows. By sharing diagnostic and medical treatment capabilities with the most advanced pediatric emergency department and trauma center in the region, our pediatric service is uniquely able to assess and treat psychiatric and medical issues.
The Hasbro Child Psychiatry Service works closely with Bradley Hospital and Gateway Healthcare to create linkages to community-based treatment, striving to provide efficient, quality care in the least restrictive environment possible.
