The pediatric division of infectious diseases is actively involved in medical education and research.

Medical education includes:

• Training of residents and medical students
• An accredited fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases for post-residency graduates

• Immunization delivery
• Epidemiology and etiological diagnosis of gastroenteritis
• Prevention of HIV infection and sexually transmitted diseases in adolescents
• Pediatric AIDS in developing countries
