  • ImagingThe Center for Pediatric Imaging and Sedation has invested in the latest, most advanced imaging technology. In fact, we are the only facility in the state to provide imaging services for newborns, and we now have the capability to offer prenatal MRIs to pregnant women.

Equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technologies, The Center for Pediatric Imaging and Sedation offers ultrasound, fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Each imaging service is offered in a separate, private room.

The center has three ultrasound rooms, two fluoroscopy and general radiography rooms, one room for MRI, and one room for CT. Our MRI scanner is a short bore scanner, which means the scanner's "tunnel" is shorter and wider than traditional scanners, preventing patients from feeling confined. To further ease anxiety, children may have a family member with them during their MRI exam.

    Imaging Technology

Our imaging modalities are connected to the hospital's Picture Archival Communications System (PACS), which stores and communicates digital radiology images to any computer in the hospital or physicians' offices. PACS not only decreases the time patients and their parents wait for test results, it expedites the implementation of treatment plans or the scheduling of surgery, depending on the diagnosis.

Our radiologists use a secure system that allows our pediatric physicians to access patient orders and results, medication lists, patient histories and allergies, diagnostic reports and diagnostic images from any desktop or laptop computer logged into the system.
